Firefighters rescue border collie from 10-foot Florida sinkhole

A border collie trapped in a 10-foot-deep sinkhole near Chiefland, Florida, was rescued after firefighters and county road crews worked for hours Friday morning. A local contractor supplied a mini excavator, but crews had to chip through rock when it could not dig farther. The dog eventually jumped toward the opening, where her owner helped pull her out; she appeared uninjured.
