Firms plan industrial gas plants in Australia, Malaysia
Air Products has finalized an agreement with a PETRONAS Gas– and DIALOG-led joint venture to design, build and operate an LNG-based air separation unit at Malaysia’s Pengerang LNG terminal. Expected to start up in early 2027, the plant will produce more than 600 tonnes per day of liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon for customers in Southern and Central Malaysia, including electronics, petrochemicals, aerospace and manufacturing businesses. The facility will use cold energy from LNG regasification to improve energy efficiency and reduce production-related emissions. Air Products says the project expands its capacity in Malaysia and builds on its more than four-decade relationship with PETRONAS Gas.
