Five Men Indicted in Separate Fatal Stabbings
Grand juries have indicted defendants in several separate fatal-stabbing cases. In Dutchess County, New York, Nicholus Peterson faces second-degree murder charges in the alleged stabbing death of 71-year-old William Wein; prosecutors say Wein was stabbed 28 times, and Peterson is being held without bail. In Boston, 18-year-old Marico Levy was indicted in the August killing of 29-year-old Latavius Owens, who police say was stabbed after an altercation at South Station. In Lexington, Kentucky, Dario Williams faces murder and burglary charges in the stabbing death of Candice Mackie; the case has drawn scrutiny because a warrant in a separate domestic-violence case involving Mackie was not served until the day she died. In Springfield, Oregon, Taron Daly was indicted on manslaughter and other charges after a dispute that ended in a fatal stabbing.
