Florida Bar Investigates Staffer Over Racist DMs
University of Miami defensive lineman Damon Wilson II shared Instagram messages he received after Miami’s double-overtime win over Florida State, which included racist and homophobic slurs, references to slavery, and violent threats against Wilson and his family. The messages were linked to Florida Bar employee Kade McLendon, whose account the organization confirmed was implicated. The Florida Bar said it opened an internal investigation and placed McLendon on administrative leave while it proceeds, describing the messages as contrary to its employee social media policy. McLendon could not be reached for comment, and the Bar has not announced the investigation’s outcome.
