Florida Man Charged in Uber Ice Cream Assault

A 60-year-old Florida man, Burton McDonald, was arrested after allegedly hitting his 65-year-old roommate in the face with a Walmart bag containing a tub of ice cream during a dispute outside an Ocala Walmart. The argument reportedly began as they loaded groceries and several large plants into an Uber, with McDonald upset that his roommate’s belongings left him little space. McDonald told deputies his roommate had mouthed off and nudged him, and acknowledged striking him; the Uber driver reportedly identified McDonald as the aggressor and said the roommate did not hit him. The roommate had redness on his cheek, and McDonald was charged with battery on a person 65 or older.
