Florida Man Convicted in $769K Tiffany Jewelry Heist

A Florida jury convicted Jaythan Gilder of robbery and grand theft for stealing more than $760,000 in jewelry from a Tiffany & Co. store at Orlando’s Mall at Millenia in February 2025. Prosecutors said he posed as a representative for an Orlando Magic player, grabbed the jewelry and used force against a store employee while escaping. After his arrest, Gilder swallowed the stolen earrings in an attempt to hide them; authorities monitored him for nearly two weeks before recovering the jewelry. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 7.
