Alexander Warren Hernandez, 19, pleaded no contest in an open plea to charges including first-degree murder in the 2024 sickle attack that killed 15-year-old Connor Michael Gill and seriously injured a 48-year-old man in Wildwood, Florida. Hernandez was 16 at the time of the attack, which prosecutors said was driven by anger over a breakup; he faces attempted murder, armed burglary and aggravated assault charges as well. Because the plea leaves sentencing to the judge, a hearing is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2027.
