Florida Woman Arrested After Four Cats Buried Alive

A 37-year-old woman, Alba Chavez, was arrested in Hobe Sound, Florida, on multiple felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty after allegedly burying cats in her yard because she believed they were demons. Deputies responding to a 911 call from children at the home dug up the yard and rescued two kittens alive; two other cats were found dead. One additional kitten was reported missing during the initial search. The rescued kittens, believed to be about three weeks old, were taken for veterinary care and later placed in foster care.
