Flyers rookie Cole Knuble scores first NHL goal
Philadelphia Flyers rookie Cole Knuble made his NHL debut Monday against Colorado after being called up from Lehigh Valley to help cover for injured forwards. The 22-year-old’s debut was especially meaningful because he grew up supporting the Flyers while watching his father, Mike Knuble, play for the team, and both parents were in attendance. Knuble showed determination in his first game, absorbing several hard hits as Philadelphia earned a win. In his second NHL appearance, against Buffalo on Wednesday, he scored his first NHL goal by following up a rebound and putting the puck into an open net. The young forward’s strong start could make it harder for the Flyers to send him back down as injured players return.
