Former Mobile Councilman Charged Over Alleged Terrorist Threats
Former Mobile, Alabama, City Councilman William Carroll, 56, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree making a terrorist threat over an Oct. 14 incident at a Hooters restaurant. According to court complaints, he allegedly made graphic threats of rape and killing to two employees; one manager said she feared for her safety and called 911. Police issued Carroll a trespass warning and told him to leave, and he was arrested nearly two weeks later. Hooters said the comments were disturbing, the employee reported them to a manager, and authorities were notified. Carroll was released after posting bond, and he declined to comment to one local news outlet; the allegations have not been proven in court.
