Former Naples Councilmember Linda Penniman Dies Weeks After Husband
Linda Penniman, an 83-year-old former Naples City Council member, died weeks after her husband, Nicholas Penniman IV, died on Sept. 29. Her family said doctors attributed her sudden death to broken-heart syndrome. Penniman served on the council in separate terms from 2014 to 2019 and 2024 until her resignation, and also held leadership roles as vice mayor and chair of the Community Redevelopment Agency. Colleagues and family remembered her as a dedicated public servant whose work included environmental protection, water quality, and affordable housing, as well as service on several local advisory boards and community organizations.
