Saxon drummer Nigel Durham dies at 61 months after denying death report

Former Saxon drummer Nigel Durham has died at 61, the band announced October 24. Saxon offered condolences to his wife, Lauretta, daughter Gemma and grandchildren; no cause of death has been disclosed. Durham played on Saxon’s 1988 album *Destiny* during his 1987–88 tenure, later drumming for Oliver/Dawson Saxon and Morpheus Rising. His death comes months after he publicly denied an online false report that he had died.
