Ranked Ole Miss Among Four Teams Setting Exhibition Openers

Several college women’s basketball programs are opening the 2026–27 season with exhibition games: Old Dominion hosts Christopher Newport and Troy welcomes Tuskegee on Oct. 27, while Vermont faces Saint Michael’s and Ole Miss plays Lane College on Oct. 28. Troy’s exhibition is free to attend, as is Ole Miss’s; Vermont’s game includes a championship-ring ceremony and food drive, while Old Dominion says the game will not be streamed. The teams enter with different expectations: Ole Miss is ranked No. 19 by the AP and No. 23 in the coaches’ poll after five straight NCAA tournament appearances, Troy was picked second in the Sun Belt, and Vermont and Old Dominion were picked third and sixth in their conferences, respectively.
