Free Health Fairs Held, Planned Across US

Communities in California, Washington, and Alabama are using free health fairs to connect residents with care and local services. In Salinas, a farmworker-focused fair is scheduled for Oct. 25, while Barton Health’s Oct. 22 event in South Lake Tahoe will offer flu shots, screenings, insurance enrollment help, CPR training, interpretation and family resources. Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center also advertised a free community conversation and health fair for Oct. 24. In Tuscaloosa, Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church recently hosted free blood pressure checks and preventive-health information, with organizers aiming to reduce cost and transportation barriers to care.
