FSU Beats No. 5 Duke, Reaches 500 Wins

No. 22 Florida State beat No. 5 Duke 2-1, earning the 500th victory in the women’s soccer program’s history and handing the Blue Devils their first loss in seven games. The Seminoles scored twice in the opening 13 minutes before Duke pulled one back in the 32nd; the win improved FSU’s record to 8-2-3 and its record against ranked teams to 4-1. The match was the team’s annual Paint It Pink game, with proceeds from the auction of its pink jerseys supporting breast cancer patients through Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s Walker Breast Program. Florida State entered the game as a reigning national champion with two titles under coach Brian Pensky.
