Fulton Sheen Beatified at St. Louis Mass

Archbishop Fulton Sheen was beatified at a Mass in St. Louis presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who emphasized Sheen’s communion with Christ and his care for the poor and vulnerable. The American bishop and broadcaster had strong ties to the Philippines, where he preached to a crowd of about 30,000 at a 1975 Rosary rally in Manila and led a retreat for Filipino bishops in Baguio.
