Gadsden First-Generation Student Named Alabama Homecoming Queen
Kameron Baba, a first-generation college student from Gadsden and senior marketing major, was named the University of Alabama’s 2026 Homecoming Queen at Friday’s pep rally. A member of Capstone Men and Women and student officer in the Blackburn Institute, Baba also participated in the Capitol Scholars program in Washington, D.C. Her “Better with Baba” initiative will connect students with health and wellness resources on campus and in the Tuscaloosa community and raise funds for the Camellia Center, with support available through the Homecoming Queen Endowed Fund. She is scheduled to be crowned at halftime of Saturday’s Alabama-Texas A&M game.
