Georgia, Florida Expand Youth Technology Education
Several Georgia initiatives aim to expand young people’s access to STEM education and technology. A Florida Tech engineering professor is working with middle school students on engineering problem-solving, design tradeoffs and AI-assisted decisions, while a new Boys & Girls Club learning center in Valdosta offers computers, internet access, tutoring and hands-on STEM activities for local youth. In Columbus, Columbus State University plans a 36,000-square-foot technology center for its space science and robotics programs, supported by a $6 million gift from Jack and JoRhee Pezold to advance STEM training, innovation and workforce development.
