Georgia Mother Sues Universal Over Son's Coaster Injuries
Jennifer Lundy is suing Universal Orlando Resort and Stardust Racers manufacturer Mack Rides, alleging the coaster caused her 9-year-old son to lose consciousness during a ride at Epic Universe on Oct. 13, 2025, and suffer permanent head, facial, orthopedic and spinal injuries. The lawsuit says an onboard photo shows the boy slumped over and alleges the ride’s lap-bar restraint did not adequately support his upper body; Lundy says he has needed therapy to walk and has been unable to attend school in person. The complaint argues the defendants knew or should have known the ride was unsafe, citing the 2025 death of another rider who became unresponsive on Stardust Racers. Universal disputes responsibility, arguing the parents assumed the risks of a thrill ride and failed to use reasonable care for the child’s safety; Lundy’s attorney has rejected that characterization.
