Ghana Mother Travels to US After Teen’s Killing
Doris Adu Gyamfi has traveled from Ghana to New York after receiving an emergency visa to attend to arrangements for her 15-year-old son, Javits Frimpong, who was fatally shot while walking to school in the Bronx. Before leaving, she called for justice, while Ghanaian officials pledged consular and legal support and urged a thorough investigation. Police have made no arrests and are seeking three teenage suspects reportedly seen in surveillance footage. The killing has prompted grief and outrage in Ghana and the United States, as well as renewed concern about gun violence and children’s safety.
