Gina Hinojosa rallies voters across Texas

Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa made stops in Corpus Christi on Oct. 26 as part of her “One Fight” get-out-the-vote tour, speaking with Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi students before holding a downtown rally. She said a governor should work as a partner with local governments rather than pressure them, arguing that local decisions should be made by locally elected officials. At a separate Oct. 23 rally in Denton, Hinojosa highlighted public education, affordability, health care and AI data centers, and criticized Gov. Greg Abbott over political corruption and the state’s new private-school voucher program. She framed the campaign as a fight between ordinary Texans and wealthy interests, while inviting voters across party lines to join her effort to defeat Abbott, who has been governor since 2014.
