Entergy says Google funding will bring Arkansas customers $500M in savings
Entergy Arkansas says Google will fund roughly $600 million in grid upgrades and new power resources to support an expansion of its West Memphis data center campus, with service targeted for 2028 pending regulatory approval. The plan includes two battery storage systems totaling 1,400 megawatt-hours, a 440-megawatt solar power agreement, a substation expansion and two new transmission lines. Entergy says Google’s payment for the resources will generate at least $500 million in additional customer savings over 20 years, building on $1.6 billion identified from the first phase, while helping strengthen the grid for other customers.
