Gotham FC and the Washington Spirit meet Saturday at Audi Field in a pivotal late-season NWSL rivalry match, with the league-leading Gotham seeking its first NWSL Shield and Washington trying to stay in the Shield race and secure a playoff place. Gotham can clinch the Shield with a win over the Spirit and a San Diego loss to North Carolina; a win would also guarantee Gotham a top-two finish and home-field advantage through the playoff semifinals. The Spirit, third in the standings, could strengthen its playoff position with a victory, while recent meetings and past playoff clashes add to the rivalry. The match kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET and will air nationally on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+.
