Governors Order Half-Staff Flags Across Three States
Governors in Florida, Kansas and Oklahoma ordered flags lowered to half-staff on or around Nov. 2 to honor people who died: Country Music Hall of Fame member John Anderson, farmworkers’ rights and civil-rights leader Dolores Huerta, and Oklahoma police Corporal Kelton Reese. Florida’s order applies to state and local sites in Apopka as well as the Capitol; Kansas’s order covers the state, while Oklahoma’s covers state property. The Oklahoma reports say Reese died from injuries sustained in a traffic crash and quote Gov. Kevin Stitt honoring his service and offering condolences to his family.
