Greenbrier Man Arrested in Vulnerable-Person Abuse Case

Brad Ellison, 43, of Greenbrier was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with felony abuse of a vulnerable person over allegations that he choked a restrained minor while working at the Conway Human Development Center. Authorities say the victim had bruising on the chest, scratches on an ear and redness on the neck. Court documents cited by one report say multiple staff members witnessed the incident. The state Department of Human Services said Ellison was placed on leave and later fired after an internal investigation found evidence supporting the report. Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced the arrest and said his office's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigated the case, which will be handled by prosecutors. Ellison is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. No factual dispute found among the rated outlets on the arrest date, charge, alleged conduct, reported injuries, or the internal investigation outcome.
