Greensboro Plans Voluntary Water Conservation Measures
Greensboro is beginning Stage I voluntary water conservation measures as drought, above-normal temperatures and declining reservoir storage put pressure on the city’s water supply. Residents and businesses are asked to fix leaks, limit showers and outdoor watering, run appliances only when full, avoid washing outdoor surfaces and not fill pools; the stage carries no mandatory restrictions or penalties. Guilford County is among nine North Carolina counties classified as experiencing extreme drought, and the city is purchasing water from neighboring suppliers to help maintain adequate reserves.
