Greenville Seeks Artist for $15,000 Town Common Mural

Greenville’s Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge and Pitt County Civic Arts Committee are seeking an artist to create an outdoor mural on a curved retaining wall at Town Common. The space measures about 6 feet by 180 feet and is visible from the waterway, East Plaza and Greenway; organizers want artwork inspired by its surroundings that reflects Greenville and welcomes visitors. Applications are due Dec. 5, 2026, and up to three finalists will engage with community stakeholders and develop proposals. One artist will be selected, receive $15,000 for the project, and is expected to begin work in March 2027.
