Groups hold, plan meals for veterans, needy

Communities and organizations are recognizing veterans through breakfasts that celebrate their service and bring residents together. The Juanita Pohl Center invited community members to its annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast, featuring guest speakers and a veterans-only raffle. In Jackson, Mississippi, the state agriculture department and Egg Marketing Board hosted a breakfast for residents of the Mississippi Veterans Home, while organizers also highlighted veterans during the state fair. Colorado’s Home Front Military Network is holding its annual Honoring the Brave Breakfast to raise donations for emergency financial assistance and help military members, veterans, and their families access services such as housing, employment, and legal support.
