Gun offenders jailed across India, US, UK
Courts handed down prison sentences in several firearms cases. In India, Salim received four years after voluntarily pleading guilty to firing at police; the court noted that medical reports for the officers and independent corroboration of the weapon recovery were absent from the case file. In Cleveland, Brian Branch was sentenced to 25 years after pleading guilty to shooting at officers and leading them on a high-speed chase that injured five. Separately, a London gun-trafficking network was dismantled after investigators recovered 14 converted firearms; distributor Faisal Razzaq received a life sentence with a minimum term of eight years, and five other members were also sentenced.
