Hadjar Regains Monaco Podium, Gasly Demoted

The FIA International Court of Appeal has reinstated Pierre Gasly’s two five-second pit-lane speeding penalties from the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, dropping the Alpine driver from third to seventh in the final classification. Isack Hadjar consequently regains third place, while Oscar Piastri, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad each move up one position. Alpine had successfully overturned the penalties after citing a timekeeping error, but McLaren and Red Bull appealed, arguing that the reversal created an unfair advantage for drivers who had not served their penalties during the race. The FIA’s ruling came after an August hearing and ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, with Alpine expressing disappointment while maintaining that Gasly never exceeded the pit-lane speed limit. The revised result also affects the constructors’ battle, leaving Alpine 16 points behind Racing Bulls for fifth place.
