Hagerstown Mummers Parade draws thousands for 99th year
Hagerstown’s 2026 Alsatia Club Mummers Parade took place on Halloween night, Oct. 31, with crowds gathering for the event, described by organizers as the parade’s 99th year and one of the East Coast’s largest nighttime Halloween parades. World War II veteran Jack Myers and Washington County Softball League representative Steve Danfelt served as honorary grand marshals, while Hagerstown Mayor Bill McIntire and City Council members joined the festivities dressed as Ghostbusters. The parade prompted downtown road closures and traffic disruption, and the forecast ahead of the event called for dry weather. Separately, the Hagerstown Aviation Museum offered free Halloween trick-or-treating for children in costume during the day.
