Haiden Deegan swept both motos at the Columbus opener of the 2026 SuperMotocross Playoffs to earn his first overall victory in the 450 class. The race was held in difficult, muddy conditions after thunderstorms forced officials to cancel qualifying, with playoff seeding determining gate selection. Ken Roczen finished second overall, while Cooper Webb placed third and Jorge Prado moved into the championship lead by two points over Deegan. Hunter Lawrence, who entered as a major title contender, endured multiple crashes and finished far back, leaving him a lap down in the first moto. Deegan said the breakthrough victory was a major relief but emphasized that the championship fight continues through the remaining playoff rounds.
