Harris Campaigns for Colom in Mississippi Senate Race

Kamala Harris campaigned in Mississippi for Democratic Senate nominee Scott Colom, joining him at a rural-health-care roundtable at Coahoma Community College and later at a rally in Columbus. At the roundtable, providers, patients and residents discussed the effects of Medicaid cuts on rural hospitals and health care. At the rally, Harris urged voters to back Colom, framing the race as a chance to make history and reject President Donald Trump and his party; Colom would be Mississippi’s first Black senator in more than a century if elected. Democrats have increased their support for Colom as he challenges Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, while Trump is also set to campaign in Mississippi for Hyde-Smith.
