Harte's Home to close Auburn store after building sold

Harte’s Home Furniture & Mattress in Auburn, Massachusetts, is closing after roughly three years in business because the building has been sold. Opened by former Rotmans Furniture employees after that Worcester-area retailer closed, Harte’s aimed to preserve local access to furniture, mattresses and customer service. The building’s buyer plans to operate another furniture store there, and Harte’s says it will fulfill existing orders and keep scheduled deliveries on track. President Heidi Richardson thanked the store’s employees, partners and customers as the business winds down.
