Hartford Shooting Kills Teen, Injures Another

A shooting on East Raymond Street in Hartford killed 17-year-old Ty-Leeyah Jamison and wounded another 17-year-old girl, who was reported in stable condition. Police said the gunfire was detected by ShotSpotter shortly before 7 p.m. and that 11 rounds were fired. Investigators believe the girls may have been targeted in connection with an altercation in the days before the shooting, but said the motive remains preliminary as they seek witnesses and continue investigating.
