19 Students Hospitalized After Louisiana School Bus Crash
School bus crashes were reported in Tennessee, West Virginia and Louisiana. In Stewart County, Tennessee, a bus crashed shortly after leaving school Monday afternoon; no students were injured, all were evaluated by emergency medical personnel, and they were taken home or collected by guardians. In Kanawha County, West Virginia, a bus carrying 18 students collided with another vehicle near Herbert Hoover High School Monday morning; no injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation. In Grant Parish, Louisiana, a bus carrying 21 students crashed Friday on Highway 71 near Campground Cutoff, north of Montgomery, sending 19 students to hospitals, including two by air to a Shreveport-area trauma center. No fatalities were reported, Louisiana State Police are investigating the Louisiana crash, and officials urged the public to respect students’ privacy and avoid sharing unconfirmed information.
