Man Dies After Memphis Task Force Stop
An unidentified man died after a traffic stop by the Memphis Safe Task Force in Frayser on Oct. 12. The task force said the vehicle was stopped for a moving violation and suspected narcotics; a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper found the driver unresponsive after speaking with him and taking his license. Officers performed CPR, and the man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The task force later attributed his death to long-term heart issues and declined to release his name, citing the family’s privacy. Authorities said a K9 alerted to the vehicle and a search found three pounds of marijuana.
