Seven Ebola Cases Prompt Africa CDC Surveillance Push
Kenya has confirmed eight Bundibugyo Ebola cases, including the initial patient who died; all infections are linked to that case, and the newest patient was identified in quarantine. Six other patients are reported stable, and health officials say there is no evidence of community spread and the public risk remains low. Authorities are monitoring 128 of about 130 identified contacts and have strengthened screening and tracing. Africa CDC is supporting Kenya and urging regional coordination. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the outbreak has spread to an eighth province, with two newly reported cases and one death, raising concern about cross-border transmission.
