St. Paul Man Stops Runaway School Bus

Ebro Ahmed, 27, stopped a moving school bus in St. Paul after seeing its driver suffer a medical emergency, while the doors were open and 19 Battle Creek Middle School students were aboard. Although he had never driven a bus, Ahmed ran aboard, briefly shifted it into reverse by mistake, then put it in neutral and pulled the parking brake. No students were injured; the driver was taken to the hospital and later discharged, according to one report. Ahmed called for help and said the calm response of doctors on “Grey’s Anatomy” helped him stay composed. A local nonprofit planned to give him $1,000 in recognition of his actions.
