Salem man who moderated CSAM network sentenced to eight years
Robert Andrew Arias of Salem was sentenced to eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving, distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material. Federal court filings described him as a moderator of an online network used to circulate the material and said he possessed hundreds of videos and nearly 1,000 images. Investigators found illegal content on digital devices seized by federal authorities in December 2023. After prison, Arias will serve 10 years of supervised release, register as a sex offender and be subject to monitoring; authorities also confiscated devices used to access or share the material.
