Heat Advisories Cover Multiple Counties

Much of the region is experiencing a hot final weekend of summer, with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s and heat-index values reaching roughly 102 to 105 degrees. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Williamson County and surrounding areas through Sunday evening, warning that heat and humidity could cause illness. Williamson County reached about 95 degrees Saturday, with partly cloudy skies, light winds and no precipitation reported at the time of observation. Forecasts also call for isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while dry conditions and drought concerns persist in parts of the region. Above-average temperatures are expected into early next week, followed by a midweek cold front that should bring less humid weather and highs in the 80s by late week.
