Heavy Rain Threats Expected Across Nepal, U.S.
Heavy rain and flooding threats are emerging across several regions. Nepal’s meteorological authorities warn that a developing Bay of Bengal system could combine with westerly winds to produce repeated, potentially extreme rainfall from September 24 to 28, with Sudurpaschim and central Nepal at particular risk. South Florida is expected to experience frequent showers and thunderstorms through the weekend, with slow-moving storms, high rainfall rates, lightning and gusty winds raising the likelihood of localized flooding, especially along the east coast. The Northeast also faces a flash-flood threat Sunday, centered on the New York City metropolitan area, with storms potentially continuing into Monday and disrupting travel along the Interstate 95 corridor.
