Herbalife Plans $250 Million Share Buyback

Herbalife’s board authorized a program to repurchase up to $250 million of the company’s outstanding shares over three years. The company said the authorization reflects confidence in its financial outlook, free-cash-flow generation and the value of its stock, while allowing it to balance buybacks with investments, strategic opportunities and maintaining financial flexibility. Shares rose about 6% in premarket trading after the announcement, and analysts’ consensus rating remained “Hold,” despite one brokerage maintaining a “Buy” rating.
