High Court dismisses £340m claims against Uber
Uber won dismissal of two linked London lawsuits seeking about £340 million, brought by roughly 13,000 black cab drivers and former private-hire firms Kabbee and Iride. The claimants alleged Uber gave Transport for London misleading information to obtain its operating licence and then took business from traditional taxi operators. The High Court accepted Uber’s argument that the claims, filed in 2024, came after the six-year legal time limit; it did not rule on whether the allegations were true. Uber has denied wrongdoing and says it operates lawfully in London. The claimants can pursue the matter further only if they succeed in an appeal.
