HII Expands Pocasset Unmanned Facility by 25 Percent

HII has expanded its unmanned systems production campus in Pocasset, Massachusetts, by 10,000 square feet, increasing manufacturing space from 40,000 to 50,000 square feet to meet rising global demand for autonomous maritime platforms. The facility will support production of REMUS unmanned underwater vehicles, ROMULUS unmanned surface vessels, the U.S. Navy’s Lionfish small unmanned undersea vehicle and the REMUS 620. The expansion also advances integration of HII’s Odyssey Autonomous Control Solutions software, including simulation, modeling and autonomy hardware for maritime operations. HII said the campus employs about 300 people and has added 50 workers in 2026, while the company has delivered more than 750 REMUS vehicles to customers in over 30 countries.
