Holiday Trains Plan Toy Drives Across US, UK

Holiday train events and toy drives are underway or planned across several communities. New Jersey’s Operation Toy Train will make December stops in Warren, Sussex and Morris counties, collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. In Belpre, West Virginia, a Toys for Tots collection event will feature a mobile train, with organizers also seeking donations toward a goal of 100 bicycles for local children. California’s Orange County Model Engineers will offer free miniature-train rides alongside a local holiday toy collection. In London, a free Thomas & Friends pop-up at King’s Cross is supporting Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign, with Mattel pledging 5,000 toys and up to £40,000 in donations.
