Honor Flight Veterans Welcomed Home Across States

A group of 117 veterans returned to Grand Forks after an Honor Flight to Washington, where they visited memorials honoring those who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Their homecoming drew a large, patriotic crowd and offered many a welcome and recognition they said they had not received when they first returned from service. Veterans also described the trip as a chance to connect with fellow service members, reflect on their experiences and find a measure of closure. During the trip, they received letters of thanks from family members, grandchildren and schoolchildren, a gesture that left many deeply moved.
