Hospitals plan lung cancer screenings across three states
Hospitals in Ohio, Florida and Michigan are holding lung cancer screening events in November to improve access to early detection. On Nov. 14, OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Marion General Hospital and Executive Imaging in Marion will offer screenings; appointments are required by Oct. 31, and a physician’s order is needed. UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital in Florida will offer free screenings during a Nov. 14 health expo, with advance registration required by Nov. 1. MyMichigan Health will provide screenings at eight Mid-Michigan locations on Nov. 7; appointments can be scheduled through its access center. Screening is generally recommended for adults ages 50 to 80 with a smoking history of at least 20 pack-years who currently smoke or formerly smoked, though eligibility requirements may vary by program.
