House Fires Kill Five Across Five Communities

Fatal residential fires were reported in Braintree, Massachusetts; Morgan City, Louisiana; Chilliwack, British Columbia; East Moline, Illinois; and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. In Braintree, a resident rescued from the burning home later died at a hospital, and the cause is under investigation. In Morgan City, a man found unconscious outside the home was taken to a hospital and later died; Louisiana authorities are investigating the cause. Chilliwack firefighters found one person dead inside a burning home, while a separate early-morning house fire in East Moline also left one person dead. In Hot Springs Village, one person died inside the home and another was hospitalized after escaping; the fire’s cause remains under investigation, and neighbors have rallied to support the affected family.
