HPE's Juniper networking deal with Oracle includes possible equity stake
HPE expanded its collaboration with Oracle to scale Oracle’s global AI infrastructure by deploying HPE Juniper Networking across Oracle AI data centers, building on more than a decade of engineering work. The multi-year agreement covers potential deployments of Juniper PTX and MX routing platforms and QFX and EX switching platforms, along with networking support services and financing to meet the demands of scaling GPU superclusters across regions and edge networks. HPE and Oracle also plan to collaborate on intelligent telemetry for deeper visibility into device and fabric behavior. As part of the deal, Oracle may invest in HPE equity through warrants issued to Oracle to purchase HPE common stock. Separately, analysts at Jefferies and TD Cowen both maintained Buy ratings on Oracle while lowering their price targets, citing that investor sentiment is near peak-negative and that some bad news is already priced in. They point to potential improvements from cloud growth and an uptick in SaaS, along with expectations that Oracle will provide updated fiscal 2030 targets at an upcoming analyst day focused on cloud.
